The
Purpose, Criteria & Nomination Process For The President's
Corporate Excellence Awards (PCEA)
The Purpose & Objectives for the President's Award for
Corporate Excellence
The
AAAP President's Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) emphasizes the
important
role businesses play to advance best practices, good corporate
governance, and
democratic values in Asia and beyond. The AAAP is committed to working
with
businesses in the aerospace industry to further these exemplary
practices in
Asia and to recognize the contribution business makes to improving
lives in the
country the business operates in and worldwide (especially in Asia). We
strongly encourage aerospace companies operating in Asia to compete for
this
prestigious honor.
The
President of AAAP presents the ACE to one or more firms at a ceremony
held once
every two years. The event is covered by the association's website.
"The President of AAAP believes that CNAC from
1933 – 1949 has fundamentally changed the world for the better, by
helping
facilitate the war effort in China to free the world from tyranny
during WWII.
He believes that CNAC at that time has facilitated the flow of ideas
and people
between America and China, spurred innovation, and contributed to a
‘free
world’ and strengthen international rule of law. Responsible leadership
and
operational excellence were CNAC hallmarks at that time, and its
corporate
citizenship framework – make money, make it ethically and make a
difference –
enabled CNAC to contribute to society and create value in ways that
were true
to CNAC strategy and culture at that time. CNAC had made a pre-eminent
difference as a corporate citizen during WWII." – Watson Chong,
President
of AAAP

"We must strengthen Asia’s position as an
aviation and aerospace centre of excellence – ensuring that we remain a
positive force in the world, whether in working to advance the health
of our
planet, the rights of workers, or the best practices of the business
community.
Investing in our common humanity through corporate social
responsibility and
socially responsible development must be the central policy goals of
all
businesses, recognising that profit is the resultant not the primary
goal of
how well businesses execute the mentioned policy. The core tenets of
corporate
social responsibility complement both political & economic
development
effort of the region the company operates in. History has shown that
the
wellbeing of humanity is at the highest when there was harmony where
interests
abroad and at home are served." –
Watson Chong, President of AAAP
